Issues affecting the marine environment will be explored in a new exhibition, Your Ocean, at Yarmouth's Time and Tide Museum from July 18 to September 27.

The display, on loan from the National Maritime Museum, looks at current thinking on a range of topics relevant to the 21st century, including climate change, over-fishing, pollution, conservation and the use of renewable energies. It shows how human life depends on the health and survival of the world's oceans.

Your Ocean, which is aimed at a younger audience, also seeks visitors' opinions on how current issues should be addressed, and visitor feedback will be displayed for others to share and respond to.

Dr Mark Green, head of the United Nations' marine and coastal programme, said: “We are delighted to support the National Maritime Museum's touring exhibition. Our oceans and seas are a vital part of the world's biodiversity, which provide us with many of the products and services we need to survive and prosper.”

Admission to the exhibition will be £5.20 for adults and £3.80 for under-17s. The museum in Blackfriars Road is open seven days a week in the summer from 10am to 5pm.
