A GREAT Yarmouth man who committed a string of offences including punching an acquaintance in the head and stealing a bottle of Jack Daniels from a supermarket was jailed today.
Richard Gibbons, 60, also breached a suspended prison sentence for brandishing a knife outside the Coachmakers Arms in Yarmouth and a conditional discharge for stealing alcohol, Norwich Crown Court heard.
Mitigating, Andrew Oliver said: “Gibbons clearly has a drinking problem that has led to his offending. To a certain extent it is an entrenched pattern of behaviour.”
Gibbons, of Nelson Road, admitted offences including theft, common assault and breaches of bail and a suspended sentence.
He was sentenced to a total of 45 weeks in prison.
