GREAT Yarmouth Library will be closed this Monday as £1.4m of refurbishment work continues.

Building work and improvements have been taking place at the library on Tolhouse Street since the beginning of the year, with new windows and a new entrance as well as big changes inside including the creation of a community kitchen.

The work is being funded by the BIG Lottery fund and is due to be completed by September when the local community will find more books, more PCs and more space for events and activities at the library.

The one-day closure is necessary so that electrical changes can be made and large pieces of equipment can be moved safely.

The library will open again on Tuesday as normal.
