GREAT Yarmouth's Time and Tide museum is celebrating International Older People's Day tomorrow with talks, demonstrations and cakes in the Silver Darlings Caf.

The main focus of the event, running from 10am-5pm and costing 2.20, will be on the range of activities and services on offer for older people in the borough.

Volunteers from Great Yarmouth Museums will be on hand to show how local people can get involved.

“It's great fun,” said regular volunteer Morris Jackman. “One week I will be dressed as a fisherman showing visitors how to tie knots, the next I'll be a Tudor merchant. It's a good way to feel part of the wider community”.

Yarmouth artist Bruer Tidman will give a brief talk about his memories of the town, and there will be a chance to donate your own reminiscences to the Great Yarmouth Voices oral history archive.

Visitors can enjoy demonstrations of Egyptian Dancing, T'ai Chi, stick work, exercises, and find out about local services.
