A TRANQUIL patch of Great Yarmouth greenery is bathing in national recognition for the second year running after it received a Green Flag award yesterday.

The recently transformed St George's Park won the coveted flag at an event in Bournemouth organised by Keep Britain Tidy, GreenSpace and the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers.

In 2007 the borough council-run park was subject to a 2m development which saw an improved children's play area, new landscaping and better lighting to reassure visitors.
