RESIDENTS parking could be extended in areas around Great Yarmouth town centre.

The borough council's area scrutiny committee has made the recommendation that zones B and C close to the town centre and seafront be extended.

In addition, the committee also recommended no changes were made to the operating hours of zone A in the town, while the third recommendation was that any extension to the residents parking was carried out in tandem with plans to decriminalise parking enforcement in the town.

The three recommendations will go to the council's cabinet for consideration.
