More than 200 students who had the cervical cancer vaccine at Yarmouth College last week are being offered advice and reassurance for any worries after a girl died shortly after she had the HPV vaccine.

Health professionals said that 14-year-old Natalie Morton, who fell ill and died hours after the Cervarix jab in Coventry, had a serious underlying medical condition and the vaccination was most unlikely to have caused her death.

Girls or parents concerned about the possible effects of the HPV vaccine are being offered an information line number and a website for reassurance.

The NHS Direct HPV information line is on 0845 6023303. The website is www.nhs.uk/hpv.
