THE third river crossing in Great Yarmouth will be a lifting bridge after Norfolk County Council gave the final go ahead for the scheme yesterday.

The plan is to build the 50m span dual carriageway bridge across the River Yare between Queen Anne's Road and Southtown Road and the South Denes peninsula.

However, up to 75 properties in the area could be affected and the council is considering a range of options for buying properties which could be blighted by the scheme.
