Despite sharing a name, (Great) Yarmouth in Norfolk is a world apart from Yarmouth in the northeasternmost US state, Maine. Despite the 14 hour transatlantic flight between them they are both coastal towns, but only one is home to Pleasure Beach!

The original area of North Yarmouth was settled three times, firstly by European settlers William Royall and John Cousins before being divided in into several areas, one of which in 1849 was the Yarmouth we see today.

Yarmouth is best-known for it's Clam Festival that has been held every year since 1965 as well as maintaing it's historical character with a Main Street that is evocative of times gone by.

Yarmouth, Maine truely is a quintessential American town.
