MAJOR redevelopment of a rundown wharf at Bure Harbour Quay could become reality if Great Yarmouth Borough Council's cabinet gives the go-ahead next week.

Urban regeneration company 1st East has produced an

Area Action Plan for the regeneration of Yarmouth which includes proposals to build 36 properties - townhouses, apartments and family homes - at Saul's Wharf opposite the entrance to the River Bure.

The Saul's Wharf land is owned jointly by the borough council and the East of England Development Agency, and if the council agrees to the homes plan, building firms will be contracted to do the work.

The council's local development framework party approved the plans at a meeting on Tuesday. They will now be discussed at a cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
