Youths in the Middlegate area of Great Yarmouth have been invited to share their aspirations for the community at a drop-in barbecue.

Young people from the estate are encouraged to share their thoughts on the future of the area over food and drink at the My Middlegate event.

The Norfolk Sausage Company will provide free food, and manicures and hot chocolates will also be available free of charge.

Daniel Hastings, community development manager at Comeunity, the borough council’s neighbourhoods management programme for the area, said: “Middlegate is an important historic area of Great Yarmouth and has huge potential: home to a strong community, near to the town centre and surrounded by the borough’s rich cultural heritage.

“Young people are the future of Middlegate and we’re keen to hear their thoughts and aspirations for their area.”

The event will take place at the Middlegate Hut from 2.30pm - 7.30pm on Thursday.
