As part of the ‘Blow the Whistle on Cancer’ campaign, the Norfolk and Suffolk Youth Football League organised a quiz to raise money for the Oesophago-Gastric Cancer department at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH).

The department is rated as one of the best in the UK for treating oesophago-gastric cancer.

Teams gathered at Emerald Park in Gorleston on November 17 for an evening of testers and teasers.

Victorious on the night were Norfolk County FA, who received their winners trophy from former Northern Ireland international footballer Sammy Morgan, who went on to manage the academies at Norwich City and Ipswich Town.

Mr Morgan was treated at the NNUH’s specialist department when he was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2014.

A total of £340 was raised for the cancer department.
