Youth warnings follows Acle club focus

A 21-YEAR-OLD man has been conditionally cautioned and two youths have been reprimanded after causing criminal damage at Acle Recreation and Social Club.

The trio were caught on CCTV damaging fence panels at the club back in September which costs around 150 to replace.

Officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) identified the offenders from the footage and conditionally cautioned the 21-year-old, who was ordered to pay for the damage, and the youths were warned for their involvement in the incident.

The action to clampdown on criminal damage at the location was part of a priority, set by the Acle Safer Neighbourhood Action Panel (SNAP), in response to concerns around the number of youths congregating and the increase in criminal damage offences at the venue.

Sgt Julia Sandell said: “Since setting the Social Club as a neighbourhood priority we have taken action and caught some of the offenders involved.

“The number of calls relating to the venue has decreased over recent weeks and the cold weather would have played a factor.

“This does not mean to say that the area will not receive any police attention as it will remain to be one of the teams daily patrols and we will take police action if offences are committed”.
