Police are appealing to parents in Gorleston following persistent anti-social behaviour from young cyclists and motorcyclists in the area.

On Wednesday night, police stopped and seized a motorbike caught doing a wheelie in the town.

Police also spoke to numerous parents after stopping children doing wheelies on pavements.

In March, after CCTV footage showed one youth doing a wheelie into oncoming traffic on the high street.

The enforcement is part of an ongoing crackdown on such behaviour which has seen youths dealt with through community resolution and one 17-year-old boy convicted of two counts of riding a bike in a careless manner and failing to stop for a police officer.

But Donald Dallas, inspector, said parents had a role to play in preventing this behaviour.

He said: “We are here to enforce but we need some parental guidance. Parents need to be aware of what their kids are doing.”
