In the first of the three-race series Great Yarmouth Road Runners’ Five- Mile Promenade first club member home was ever-improving Penny Studley who finished in a PB having knocked 15 secs off to record a time of 37:43:49. She was also 1st Lady F35. Following closely behind was Kevan Pywell in a time of 37:44:58. David Drewitt recorded a time of 40:42:34, an improvement on his 2011 times.
On Sunday, Penny took park in a new 5K race organised by Active Outdoor Sport. The location was on the estate of Somerleyton Hall. Penny clocked 21:53pb – also claiming 2nd prize in Ladies 35-40.
It is now a very busy week for local runners: Sunday 6th – GEAR 10K at King’s Lynn, Monday 7th – Breckland 10K at Thetford and Wednesday 9th – GYRR 5 Mile Promenade.
Entries are now open for the Humpty Dumpty 10K on Sunday, July 1 around Reedham, Freethorpe and Wickhampton. Online entries and postal entry forms can be found at www.gydac.org.uk
