Mattishall 2, Caister FC 2
AFTER a fine performance the previous week coming from two goals down and winning 3-2 against Long Stratton (Fielding 2, Blake), Caister travelled to Mattishall on Saturday.
Mattishall play the long ball game, however, the Caister defence stood firm, dominated, and Caister went in with a deserved 1-0 half-time lead (Blake) which would have been more but for poor finishing.
Caister let Mattishall back in the game when a long ball wasn't dealt with by an outstanding defence of Rowley, Fielding, Corke and Harry.
Caister added a second, a scrappy affair finished by young Chris Salmon.
Caister had a few good chances but failed to capitalise, then the inevitable happened.
Another punt up the park, the winger's cross went through a crowd of players to a Caister defender. He tried to clear two yards out only to miss-kick completely and Mattishall equalised in injury time.
The club welcomes Kieran who couldn't have had a better debut for a 17-year-old. The squad now boasts five teenagers, with more coming through. Thanks to Lee Snowling for going sub.
Next, home to Stalham, meet at the Allendale 1.30pm. Any call-offs please ring Greeni or Sammo.
