KINGFISHER ABC has become the first club in the Eastern Counties to achieve the Amateur Boxing Association of England Clubmark accreditation.

The Clubmark recognises that the club meets ABAE quality standards that are based on Sport England criteria and requires clubs to meet specific targets relating to the duty of care and protection of children, sports equity and ethics, club management and the ABAE boxing programme.

Already operating within the majority of the criteria, by formally registering the Clubmark accreditation will help the Great Yarmouth-based club in supporting a bid to the ABAE's capital investment programme.

Mathew William, ABAE national club and coach manager, has commended Kingfisher ABC on the quality of their submission and congratulated the club and all its members for their hard work and wishes them continued success in the future.
