At Dereham in the first round of the Norfolk Junior League, GYSC were pushed into third place by Dereham, 196 points, and UEA City of Norwich 194. Great Yarmouth scored 182, Swan B 133.

The nine years boys team of Jack Collins, Callum Stannard, Miles Houghton and Aaron Hudson won the special and the freestyle relays in fine style. Gabriella Crick, Emily Loveland, Clarissa Burwood and Natasha Mann Holy followed this with two second places.

Lauren James for the 10/u girls gave her all but had to be content with a personal best time and second place in the 50m breaststroke. Aderlaide Loveland fought hard in the 12/u freestyle but was denied first place by the UEA swimmer. Katherine Turton and Paige Lovage suffered the same fate with second places in the breaststroke and fly.

Isaac Kirby again swam away from the opposition a clear winner in the 12/u fly, and the breaststroke saw George Yusuff battle to hold off other swimmers for an excellent win. Declan Scott was unlucky not to win the freestyle, just pushed into second place in a thrilling race. The team had second places in the older relay age groups, but the club had to be content with third place.

Good supporting swims came from Isobel Robbins, Amelia Driver, Emily Acland, Grace Baxter, Taylor Hudson, Dannielle Page, Laura Loveland, Joseph Windsor Freeman, Joshua Clifton, Alexander Goff, Patrick Manning, Jack Colby, James Walker.
