Acle bowling ace Tim Stone is celebrating qualification for the World Indoor Singles at Potters Leisure Resort in January.

It will be Stone's second appearance at the tournament following last year's dramatic last-ball defeat to Norfolk bowls legend Mervyn King.

Stone, 31, booked his place with an 8-5, 8-6 victory over World Ladies' Matchplay champion Debbie Stavrou at the Lincoln IBC on Sunday.

He had previously qualified for the Welsh Open in early February and is a two-time winner of the national mixed pairs with Mel Haylett.

The Acle Indoor Bowling Club member is hoping he will have double reason to celebrate with wife Rebecca expecting the couple's first child just before the world singles final.
