Acle duo win national title

Tim Stone and Melanie Haylett, of Acle Indoor Bowls Club, won the mixed pairs

in the national championships at Northampton.

In the first round on Saturday they played the Falcon Club from Chelmsford and won 27-12.

In the first round on Saturday they played the Falcon Club from Chelmsford and won 27-12. In the next round they met fellow Norfolk duo from Fakenham Gallow, Mervyn and Suzanne King, last year's national champions, and won 22-16.

In the quarter-finals they played Angel from Tunbridge in Kent and won 21-15. In the semis they came up against Boston and won 23-9. In the final against Nottingham they again were on top and won 23-14.
