BRAGGING rights for Yarmouth Road have been put on hold till next season after Acle drew with near neighbours Blofield with both sides working hard to find the winning goal. Acle had gifted their opponents a two-goal lead early in the first half as they were unable to cope with Blofield pressure.

Midway through the first-half Daniel Foreman created space on Acle's wing and delivered a perfect centre across the face of goal.

Ben Morgan headed back into the path of the sliding Ritchie Fruin, who put the ball past the bewildered Blofield keeper.

The second half saw a good game develop but Blofield's insistence on playing long balls into the Acle defence only allowed the visitors to gradually take control.

James Foreman and Ricky Hodds formed a

solid partnership at the back with Peter Nobbs looking to attack down the flanks whenever the chance arose.

The equaliser came late in the game after manager Tony Ward made a telling double substitution, putting on Warren Nicholls and Louis Holdsworth, the latter in the right place as Acle swung in a telling free-kick that saw Holdsworth coming in off the right wing and sliding home the equaliser their play and enthusiasm so richly deserved.

On Monday, Acle lost 1-0 at home to Hempnall in another Anglian Combination Premier Division top-six game.

Tomorrow Acle visit fifth-from-bottom Dersingham Rovers.
