Acle Reserves came away from Yarmouth Road pointless after a late winner cruelly robbed them of a point on Monday morning.

With keeper Cannon unavailable, centre-back Hawkins donned the keeper’s gloves.

After 15 minutes, the hosts missed a golden opportunity to take the lead as penalty was struck wide of the target following a trip in the box. Play was then held up for almost five minutes after Leathers received a nasty gash to the head and had to make a trip to A&E.

The hosts started to get the upper hand after the break and twice in the space of five minutes, Hawkins was forced to tip goal-bound efforts over. Then, in the fifth minute of added time, a long cross to Acle’s far post was headed home by Stobart.
