Great Yarmouth and District Football League

Albion become the first club into the Wiltshire Cup final following a stunning 5-1 win over league leaders MK United.

This cup has a reputation for producing upsets and from the word go Albion were the hungrier side. After 10 minutes, great work by Josh Thomas picked out Peter Oldham, who slotted home to give Albion an early lead.

MK had chances, but Albion's keeper, Turner was alive to the danger. In the second half Albion doubled their lead when again Oldham tapped home. Collins made it three with a top finish from 30 yards.

MK aren't top for nothing, and came to life. Blackshaw handled in the box and Adam Hogg made it 3-1.

However, two goals in two minutes finished the tie as Oldham grabbed a hat-trick with a header, before Ryan Gowing rounded Soloman and calmly finished to put Albion FC into the final on Easter Monday.

MK will bounce back, but Albion must be congratulated on a great performance, especially hat-trick hero Peter Oldham, who was at the heart of everything that Albion produced.

Catfield made it to the semi-finals at Reedham with a 5-1 win over Lacon Arms in the delayed quarter-final match. A superb Spencer Self strike sent the holders on their way.

In the first Percy Nockolds Trophy match this season, GY United of the second division knocked out a

fast-improving Tramway from Division One with a 3-1 win that saw two from Ashley Williams and a Gino

Hynes strike. They will face Prostar Windows on Wednesday, April 7 in the quarter-finals.

In league action, Reedham were two down against a Hemsby Reserves side who have improved no end and picked up some good points.

However, spirited Reedham came back to salvage a 2-2 draw in their warm-up for the semi-final tomorrow at Reedham against Catfield.

GY International moved out of the drop zone with a 5-3 win at basement side GY Peelers in a game that could have gone either way.

In Division Two, Caister United A appear the form team in the division, as they won 5-0 at home against South Yarmouth. With one cup final already assured, they can still claim a second in the Percy Nockolds Trophy to cap an amazing turnaround.

Gorleston Wanderers picked their second win on the bounce, against Martham A, 3-2 at Halvergate.

Feathers picked up a hard-earned point with a 1-1 draw against the leaders Bohemians.

Prostar Windows pulled off the shock of the day in Division Two as they defeated second-placed Norfolk and Chance 2-0. The top two clash this week in a Percy Nockolds quarter-final, with a semi-final place up for grabs.

MK United Reserves accounted for a stubborn Carpathians 3-1 at Mill Lane.
