There was plenty of slam-dunking when Oriel High School and Lynn Grove hosted the East Norfolk School Sport Partnership U14 boys' and girls' basketball tournaments.

Acting as feeder competitions to the Norfolk County finals, Oriel, Lynn Grove, Cliff Park and Caister high schools competed in round robin tournaments for a place in the finals.

Cliff Park won the boys' tournament. Oriel Year 9s edged out Oriel Year 8s in a 14-12 thriller to take the runners-up place.

Caister High coasted to victory in the girls' tournament, winning all four of their matches without conceding a single basket. Lynn Grove took the runners-up spot, with Oriel in third place.

Stuart Brunton-Douglas, competition manager, said: “It was a very enjoyable tournament, played in a friendly, yet competitive atmosphere.”
