It is many years since Great Yarmouth Referees' Association had as many as five members involved in county cup finals.

Keith Eglinton will referee the Sunday Intermediate Cup final, David Tozer will be an assistant in the John Savage (U16) Cup final and Paul Emblem will be an assistant referee in the Minor (U14) Cup final.

Experienced referee Peter Cater will also act as assistant referee on the Norfolk and Suffolk Veterans' Cup final.

Pride of place goes though to Neil Jacques, who has been rewarded for some consistently excellent performances both on Saturdays and Sundays.

He has been appointed as assistant referee for the Sunday Senior Cup final to be played at Carrow Road.

On the local front, he will also referee the GYDFL's prestigious Wiltshire Cup final on Easter Monday morning.

On the promotion front, Daniel Wright has been promoted from level six to five and there was more good news for Paul Emblem as he achieved his promotion from level seven to six.

So there will congratulations all round when the branch holds its annual meeting next Thursday, April 8, at Legends Lounge Bar - starting at 7.45pm.
