THE Great Yarmouth side ran in five unanswered tries, in an all-round strong performance in Eastern Counties Two.

Tomorrow, B-GY host Swaffham in the Norfolk Junior Cup, kick-off 2.15pm, at Cobholm Playing Fields, Yarmouth.

From the kick-off Broadland put the visitors under pressure. Centre Stacey Ledgerwood kicked over the Lakenham defensive line for Mark White to collect, and out-run the cover to score (unconverted).

Lakenham tried to kick themselves out of trouble but full back Doggett was taking all the high balls and running them straight back into the visitors' half. A dummy from scrum half Simon Ruddick sent the Lakenham defence the wrong way. He darted up the blind side and off-loaded the ball to put flanker Asa Morrison one-on-one with the full back, and he dipped his shoulder to crash over for the score (unconverted).

Broadland were exerting their authority in the scrum and props Matt Beckett and Richard Bristo were providing a phenomenal platform, taking a number of balls against the head. Broadland were again on the score sheet as No 8 Adam Towfighi picked up and carried on. A short pass let scrum half Simon Ruddick slip through a gap before putting Mark White clear (unconverted).

Hooker Rye Bilyard was connecting perfectly in the lineout and the work rate from Chiddle and French in the ruck was preventing Lakenham getting near the ball.

Broadland broke from their own half with Ruddick again the playmaker as he sent wing Joe Payne off down the line. Payne high-stepped through the first tackle, cut inside and then out to shake the Lakenham full back to score (converted Lightfoot).

The second half began with new signing Tom on a stunning 50-metre break. Wing Jake Sewell caused difficulties for his opposite man and Stacey Ledgerwood broke down the wing but clipped the touchline.

A storming run from Adam Towfighi through three tackles ended with a pass to Morrison five yards out and he cut inside to score his second try (converted, Lightfoot).

Broadland introduced Ryan Gallie, Ben Collings and James Fogg.
