The Chinto Karate Group ended the year with five of their students passing their black belt gradings. Father and son Ali and Thomas Watson, Jason Potter, Adam Yorkston and Chiara Spink did themselves and the club proud during the long strenuous grading. Senior Instructor Tracy Pillar (4th Dan) commented: “It has been a real pleasure having all five students train with me, they have always trained regularly and asserted themselves in their training. It's always nice to see younger children come along and go all the way to their black belts.

“At present we have had 28 students pass their black belt grading since taking over the club 10 years ago and 11 year old Chiara Spink has become the youngest black belt within the group.

Lessons for five-year-olds to adults are held seven days a week at Gorleston, Bradwell, Belton and Great Yarmouth. Younger children can train with the Little Ninjas at Magdalen Methodist Church in Gorleston or Mill Lane Community Centre in Bradwell.

Tracy also runs Winners Fight Club for students who are more interested in circuit training and kumite (sparring) which is proving very popular.
