Students had to demonstrate a range of kicking and punching techniques, as well as the ability to block and counter-attack an opponent and take a fitness test.
As well as the adult contingent, the East Coast Black Belt School now also has an increasing number of junior kickboxers, some of whom also earned their new belts.
Chief instructor Steven Webster firmly believes that it is possible for every student to achieve Black Belt status, with the correct attitude and instruction.
The East Coast Black Belt School is to hold its first intra-club competition this month, where members will have an opportunity to try out their skills and stamina against their peers in a range of categories.
The school has training sessions around Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft.
