The weather again wiped out an entire Ridgeons League football programme on Monday, including Great Yarmouth Town’s match at Norwich United and Gorleston’s home clash with Diss.

Now it’s fingers crossed that pitches will thaw out in time for Monday’s matches to go ahead.

The Bloaters are due to entertain Walsham-le-Willows while the Greens are at Swaffham in the quarter-finals of the First Division KO Cup, both kick-offs 3pm.

This could be a good chance for Yarmouth to register their first home league win in the Premier Division this campaign. The Bloaters are six places above their visitors with 23 points from 21 games. Their opponents from Suffolk are third-bottom with 16 points from 18 games.

On league form, Gorleston will be cup favourites at Shoemakers Lane. The Greens are seventh in the First Division with 22 points from 12 games while the Pedlars are second-bottom with just 11 points from 14 matches. They are always a handful on their sloping pitch, however.

January 8 sees Yarmouth at home to Hadleigh and Gorleston at Long Melford.
