The benefit match hosted by Kirkley and Pakefield in February raised 400 for Great Yarmouth Town.

Grateful Bloaters chairman Colin Jones said: “The phrase “football family” has been one that has been used many times in recent weeks. That family spirit within football drifts down to local level and I am astounded by the support of local teams towards Great Yarmouth Town’s well-publicised plight.

“Mike Guymer of Kirkley and Pakefield FC contacted the club wanting to put on a fundraising match for the club which he organised superbly and the evening was a wonderful spectacle for football fans old and new.

“Thank you to all clubs and players who took part to raise money for the club and it is great to see clubs help each other in times of crisis. Should any other of our local friends find themselves in the unfortunate situation this club has this season then all at GYTFC would do what we can to help as we want to see all of local football grow and flourish.”

Tomorrow Mike Derbyshire’s Yarmouth Town travel to Wisbech (3) before Monday’s derby at Emerald Park. The Reserves entertain Walsham le Willows at the Wellesley tomorrow (3).
