Great Yarmouth Town start their programme of pre-season friendlies next Wednesday (July 13) when they entertain Rymans Premier League side Lowestoft Town at the Wellesley, ko 7:45pm.
The Trawlerboys will be stern opposition for the Bloaters having narrowly missed out on promotion last season when losing by the odd goal of seven in the play-off final.
The Bloaters are busy finalising their squad for the forthcoming season but will definitely be missing last year’s top goal scorer Jake Reed.
Reed, who has signed professional forms with League Two side Dagenham and Redbridge, is a product of the youth set up at the club, having progressed through the ranks to the First team.
Reed impressed when being watched at a couple of Yarmouth’s matches and also gave a good account of himself whilst playing in a couple of trial matches that he attended at Dagenham.
The club wishes Reed a successful career in the high echelons of the game.
Remaining friendlies: July 16 – North Walsham Town (away) ko 3pm; July 20 – Acle United (home) ko 7:30pm; July 24 – Sailor Brown Tournament (Emerald Park) 10am; July 28 – Sheringham (away) ko 7:45pm; July 30 – Peterborough Northern Star (home) ko 3pm; August 9 – Caister (away) ko 6:30pm.
