GREAT Yarmouth Town can expect a cracking game tomorrow at Clacton as both sides strive for promotion.

FC Clacton had a convincing 5-0 victory over Cornard United last Saturday. With the Bloaters, FC Clacton have one of the best defensive records in Ridgeons Division One, so it's pointing towards a low-scoring game, a defensive tussle.

Manager Kevin Cruickshank, commenting on last Saturday's home victory, said it was three valuable points which Yarmouth deserved.

“I was pleased with everyone's performance, they stuck to tasks given them and really our keeper was not given too much to do.

“Roach led from the front giving their defence plenty to think about, he was well supported by Woodcock and Thompson.”

Of tomorrow's match at Clacton, Cruickshank said it was obviously going to be an extremely difficult task.

“However, we are playing very well, the confidence and commitment is there so we will go into the game not over-confident but we certainly will be positive.”

The Reserves are at home tomorrow to CEYMS. The Bloaters are third in the Anglian Combination Division Two.

CEYMS and Yarmouth could still have a say in promotion. CEYMS are five points adrift of Yarmouth but have two games in hand.

The U18 side is away to Dereham A on Wednesday, chasing the East Division championship.

Yarmouth first XI traditionally play Gorleston FC on Easter Monday, this year however the game is scheduled for Tuesday, April 21.
