Diss are fourth after beating Saffron Walden 1-0 at Brewers Green Lane but had goalkeeper Matty Webster to thank for a number of fine saves as they recovered from the shock midweek defeat at Stowmarket.

The only goal of the game came in the 61st minute when Stuart Garner and Xavier Huckle set up George Watts-Sturrock to blast a superb strike home from the edge of the area.

Thetford lost 4-1 at Brantham, Downham went down 4-0 at Ipswich Wanderers while bottom side Fakenham lost 4-2 at home to Team Bury after battling back to 2-2 from 2-0 down.

The Ghosts dominated the first half, failed to convert chances and conceded two soft goals just before half-time.

Julian Delicata and Jordan Penty scored cracking goals to get them back on terms, then defensive frailties returned to haunt the Ghosts as the visitors scored twice more.

There are clear signs of Fakenham producing better form with a clutch of new signings but new manager Wayne Anderson still has a lot of work to do.

In the Premier Division, Kirkley & Pakefield are fourth, their home match with Felixstowe & Walton producing a comfortable 4-0 win.

Mildenhall had a 3-0 home win over Woodbridge and are sixth while a Wisbech side under new management lost by the only goal of their home match with third-placed Leiston.

Championship leaders are CRC with 63 points from 24 games, followed by Needham Market with 59 from 25, Leiston 57 from 27 and Kirkley & Pakefield with 46 points from 23 games now that Harwich & Parkeston's results have been wiped out following their dropping out of the league.
