CLIFF Hotel Bowling Club prepared for the coming season when they held their general meeting at the Cliff Hotel.

Chairman and captain R Base thanked all members for their continued support and commitment to the club and to the rest of the committee which consisted of president R Scott, secretary R Farrow, treasurer D Williams and D Needham who ran the club competitions.

In the previous season, due to a rather poor summer regarding the weather, a number of games were cancelled and had to be rearranged which had resulted in making it difficult to get a settled team and making more work for the secretary and captain. But despite this the team had managed to finish sixth in the league.

Captain R Base, who had held the post for 27 years, except for a short break of a season and a half, had decided to stand down and was immediately thanked by president R Scott and the rest of the members for all his work over the past years. Vice- captain F Gibbs would be taking the job over for the coming season.

President R Scott, secretary R Farrow, treasurer D Williams and chairman R Base were re-elected.

The team consists of R Scott, R Farrow, R Base, F Gibbs, D Needham, M Sayers, D Williams, I Gilbert, J Davies, J Soards, O Hollis, P Ladmore, M McCroft, B Chapman, B Fiddes, L Rose and R Groom.
