June 1 is the deadline for entries to the 65th Great Yarmouth Bowls Festival.

The 64th running of the hugely popular annual seaside event was one of the most successful ever with over 1,800 entries, making it the biggest outdoor tournament in the country.

And organisers are confident this one will match it for both numbers and quality.

Once again there are 12 categories to enter - men's and ladies' singles, men's and ladies' pairs, men's and ladies' triples, men's and ladies' fours, mixed pairs and triples, the under-25 open singles and over-60s open singles and pairs. Each event lasts one or two days within the marathon time frame of a tournament which begins on Sunday, August 29 and runs through to September 24.

All matches are played on the immaculate seafront greens near to the town's Britannia Pier.

For entry forms contact tournament manager Derek Webster on 01493 603976 or Great Yarmouth Tourism on 01493 846344.
