Qualifying tournaments in two age groups - under-13 and under-16 - were staged on the first two weekends of the championships, with the finalists from each stepping into the international arena on the final weekend to compete for individual trophies and cash prizes for their clubs.

Initially, the tournament was restricted to junior sections from clubs in East Anglia, plus an entry from the White Oak Club in Swanley, Kent, who are regular visitors to the finals weekend.

Great Yarmouth took the under-13 honours, with Adam and Lewis Comerfield and Frazier Thompson defeating City of Ely's Robbie Cove, Jack Alexander and Josh Easy 11-7 in a match that followed the world indoor singles semi-finals.

Mid Suffolk prevented a Norfolk club double when Leah Claireaux, Ben Parrish and Andrew Pulford defeated the Acle trio of Dan Mills, Matthew Sparrow and Daniel Seabourne 15-9 in the under-16 decider played in front of a large, appreciative crowd on the morning of the world indoor singles final.

Judy Potter was on hand to make the presentations after the under-16 final, while world indoor singles champion-elect Greg Harlow did the honours after the previous evening's under-13 decider, which featured a team from his home club of City of Ely.

Apart from the trophies, the winning teams received 100 each for their clubs, with 50 each going to the beaten finalists.
