Kingfisher ABC had two of their boxers representing England at the Great Britain youth championships in Liverpool recently at the Everton Park Leisure Centre.
The weekend started well with Paulius Macivleuilius of Kingfishers ABC representing England, beating Scotland's
J McAllister in a close bout. Macivleuilius took the decision 14-12 on count-back to take him through to the final.
With a bye into the final Kingfisher ABC's Cain Brunning representing England met Mark Heffron, also of England, in the class 6 under 64kg final. Brunning received a warning for a low head in the final round and this ultimately gave the bout to Heffon by 5 to 4.
The class 6 under 75kg final was again an all-English affair with Macivleuilius against Cullum Cotton. Macivleuilius scored well with some heavy punches to head and body to win the bout 6-3 on points.
Due to the decision to select the team before the GB finals Cotton was selected ahead of Macivleuilius to represent England in Dublin against Ireland, Germany and Italy.
