Kingfisher Amateur Boxing Club's presentation evening took place at the Cliff Hotel with special guests Norwich boxer Herbie Hide and Great Yarmouth mayor Tony Smith.

Kingfisher Amateur Boxing Club's presentation evening took place at the Cliff Hotel with special guests Norwich boxer Herbie Hide and Great Yarmouth mayor Tony Smith. In the last 12 months the club has had considerable success at both a national and international level.

Two more Kingfisher boxers competed for England this season, taking the total to seven different boxers in the past eight years - contesting 19 bouts and winning 15. This included a junior Commonwealth gold, junior Olympic silver, several three and four-nation gold medals. they also produced a senior team captain.

This season the club has again boxed in Denmark, winning six gold medals and three silver. They competed in 81 contests this season including 22 national championship bouts, 12 Danish international bouts and three England international bouts. That resulted in five national finals, two national champions in the junior ABC U9 class six. There were also finalists in the NACYP and senior novice championships both male and female, 10 Norfolk champions and five E/C champions.

Each boxer winning a trophy on the night was also presented with a pair of boxing gloves sponsored by Dr Duncan, whom the club thanked for his continued support.

Debut awards went to Daisy Dugdale, Sam Dugdale, Georgeena Taylor, Richard Burton, Sam Halms, Dean Vann and Paul Hudson.

The club trophies awarded were: Most school boy/junior bouts (Lion Club Challenge Cup) Cain Bunning, most senior bouts (HA and EE Mannell Trophy) Paulius Macivleuilius, most improved junior (George Carman Cup) Sam Dugdale and Henry Potter, most improved senior (Carlton Cup) Sam Halms, best junior/schoolboy boxer (Cecil Page Trophy) Stevie Middleton, best senior boxer (Charrington Trophy) Paulius Macivleuilius, best female boxer (Phil Ward Memorial Trophy) Sam Halms.
