Broadland-GY II 32 Swaffham II 5

Tigers enjoyed another comprehensive win to move comfortably into the top half of the league table.

Broadland applied early pressure and a clear break from Joe Payne put them on the score board with a well taken try. Forward power moved the ball well and the second score came as Chaninga bounced two tacklers to crash over and score (Converted Moorehouse) Broadland kept the momentum up and a cross field kick from Fly Half Simon Ruddick was well taken by Wing Ben Collings, who touched down in the corner. This provided a comfortable 17-0 half time lead.

Swaffham caught the Tigers early in the second half, as some good work in the midfield, committed the Broadland defence, allowing Swaffham to break clear wide to score. The comeback was however short lived, Full back Sewell kicked over, Scrum Half Darren Moorehouse chased and hacked the ball through, showing skill more associated with Soccer, Moorehouse kicked past the fullback, and then twice more to put the ball over the line before diving on it to claim the score.

Broadland were playing on a front foot and good runs from Nathan and Adam Bensley moved the ball well giving Kieran Wilkes some space, Wilkes lowered his shoulder, going through a defender to score. Broadland’s final try came from a great sweeping run from centre Phil Buckley, as he took a pass at the 22 meter line, and then arched outside to score in the corner.
