Browston Hall Men’s A team lost to Woodlands by 88 shots to 56 but if they beat Pentney on Saturday they will stand a good chance of promotion.

The Top Ten team played Pentney at home on Sunday and got a great 74-71 result, giving them six points.

The Men’s B team faced an Acle who arrived needing six points to become champions. However, Browston were not in a charitable mood and managed to hold their visitors to two shots (81-83). John Spooner’s men (Don Cleeter, John Stanton and David Lowe) recorded a resounding 27-16 win. Jon Carter, Mike Harvey, Bruce Granger and young Charlie Toplis also gained a point with a 24-22 result.

Pride of place goes to the Ladies Fours team who triumphed at Norwich against Shotford Ladies. Cruising at 20-15 in the 20th end they were suddenly faced with six down but with her last bowl Sally Webb cut it down to two to secure a 20-17 win.
