Close rivals Pentney arrived at Browston Hall for a crunch fixture at the top of the league.

The match produced some tight battles and eventually Pentney took victory by the tiny margin of 77-74, giving them 4½ points to Browston’s 2½. This result, together with other matches, left Browston in fourth place.

Dennis Pratt, Phil Ellis, Eddie MacDonald and Nigel Nutman won 25-17, Scott Turner, Glen Turner, Mac Skilton and Roy Turner won 20-18, Vic Moore, Mike Topping, Terry White and Mal French drew 19-19 and Peter Hurren, Tony Bridge, Jim Malcolm and Derek Chumbley lost 10-23.

At great run for Browston Ladies’ Four came to an end at County Arts in Norwich. They found the green deck very different to their home rink and were beaten Acle. Sally Webb, Barbara Stanton, Paula Cleeter and Pam Spooner all deserve praise for their efforts and they send good wishes to Acle for their next match.
