East Norfolk Sixth Form College's women's hockey team (pictured) were the icing on the cake of a busy sporting week when they won the East of England Cup final 2-1 against Hills Road Sixth Form College in Cambridge.

The goals that gave the local girls victory came from Annabelle Williams and Jess Ollington.

They team will represent the East in the quarter-finals of the National Cup competition.

The men's football team reached the semi-finals of the East of England Cup with an emphatic 6-0 victory over Long Road Sixth Form College, also from Cambridge.

This sets up an intriguing match against Barking College, the two colleges having got this far with a combined record of 37 goals for and none against.

The “social” footballers were in friendly action against Sir John Leman, going down 3-1.

The women's football team are also on a roll with a 7-1 double header against Suffolk New College from Ipswich which cemented their position at the top of the East of England League and gave them progress in the National Plate competition.

The netball team were less successful against old rivals Palmer's Sixth Form College in Essex. They finished 50-32 in another league and cup double header.

The men's rugby team played in a midweek tournament in Norwich.

Wins against City College and Luton Sixth Form College were not enough to see them through to the semi-finals.
