GORLESTON continued their winning spell by completing a league double over Wanderers away on Saturday.

Elliott Pride, signed from Great Yarmouth, made his debut in goal and played very well, his kicking being excellent.

Wanderers have achieved some excellent results of late, including a draw at Debenham LC and victories of 3-0 and 4-0 over Hadleigh and Saffron Walden respectively.

Gorleston were well organised andstarted well with the wind at their backs, but Wanderers posed an early threat when Camillo Douglas was denied by Pride, who came out smartly to save. Mo Fike also had the ball in the net but this was ruled out for a foul on the keeper.

Gorleston created plenty of chances but were unable to convert them. Pete Lambert scuffed a shot while Lee Hunter saw a header go wide after Steve Taylor had crossed from the right.

Wanderers had the wind in their favour in the second half but Gorleston held firm and scored the deciding goal after 79 minutes.

Taylor's shot from the edge of the six-yard box was stopped by Ipswich keeper Hammond only for Ricci Butler to side-foot home

the rebound.

Gorleston nearly got a second in the closing minutes when Butler forced Hammond to stretch and tip round a post in injury time.
