Caister got back to winning ways in the Premier Division of the Anglian Combination with an emphatic 4-1 home win overs Blofield United.

A tough sequence of fixtures had seen Caister play the top two teams and lose 5-0 at Harleston and 3-1 at Norwich CEYMS - but it was a different story at the weekend, with Anton Ward and Gaz Ward both bagging braces.

There’s another match at Allendale Road tomorrow (2pm), with an in-form Long Stratton side providing the opposition.

The match of the day in Division Two certainly lived up to the billing, with Martham sharing seven goals with top-of-the-table Easton at the Coronation Ground.

Unfortunately for the hosts it was the visitors who won it 4-3, with Joe Blake, Cameron Mallett amd Oliver Woodhouse getting the Martham goals.

There’s another home match tomorrow agaisnt Gayton United.

Acle United Reserves’ tough season continued when they were beaten 7-1 at Holt United.

Acle went behind after 15 minutes but responded well and equalised 15 minutes before the break with a speculative left-footed shot from Dimsey which took a deflection to take it away from the goalkeeper.

The tables soon turned with the home side seeing the majority of the ball and Acle having to show how resilient they could be with Collins-Reed, keeping the defence and midfield well organised.

Injury to Robinson saw the introduction of Davies who went up top, with Dimsey slotting onto the left hand side. Shortly after the home side had a shot from distance which Purton-Turner was unable to hold and it was slotted home by the quick reacting striker.

Acle were now under the cosh and a perfectly placed long range effort nestled in the corner to make it 3-1 lead at the break.

A lack of organisation led to another goal for the home side shortly after the break and three more followed to give the hosts an emphatic win.

The Reserves entertain top-of-the-table Easton on Saturday with a 2pm kick-off.

Hemsby were left clicking their heels when their scheduled Division Three fixture at Mattishall Reserves was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.

There is no fixture scheduled for this weekend, with their next game at Earsham on Saturday week.
