The final of the Burgess Cup will be between Caister Community Centre and Belton FC.

After the initial shock of finding out they will have to replay their Norfolk Primary Cup semi-final, Belton bounced back to secure a place in the final.

They had a very good 4-1 win at Allendale against Caister Youth whose goal came from Karl Cooper.

Caister Youth have a chance to make amends as they have a quarter-final tomorrow in the Percy Nockolds Trophy, against MK United Reserves.

Caister Community Centre moved five points clear at the top of Division Two after a 5-3 win at Arches.

Nearest challengers Belton, though, have two games in hand and the sides still have to clash in a probable title decider.

Prostar Windows had an excellent 4-2 win at home to South Yarmouth despite trailing 2-0. They saw a brace for veteran Steve King and a strike from Geoff Arbon. This result moved Prostar windows into third place.

It was not a good week for South Yarmouth who lost 3-2 in midweek at Caister Youth in an excellent advert for the league. Caister’s goals came from Karl Cooper, Liam Sharp and Scott Bishop.

Carpathians put a poor run of form behind them as they defeated Martham Aa 9-0 with a hat-trick from Chris Thompson.

The match between Wellington and MK United Reserves was abandoned at half-time with the score at 2-2 and the management committee will discuss the outcome in a couple of weeks.

The big game in Division One pitted the top two as Albion in second faced Catfield.

The home side were desperate for the points as they tried to stay in the title race. However, it was the champions who recorded a fine 3-1 win in a tale of two halves.

The result means Catfield, barring a collapse, are on the verge on a sixth league title after moving nine points clear at the top with five games to come.

Mk United are now most likely to make a late push after they comprehensively defeated Caister United A 22-0 at Burgh Castle. Caister United’s misery is almost over now and they should be relegated in the next couple of weeks back into Division Two.

Norfolk n Chance made amends for last week’s Percy Nockolds Trophy exit by taking the points in a 3-1 win at Great Yarmouth Peelers. It has been a season of two halves for Chance as they have had a fantastic last three months in terms of results.

Bohemians, chasing hard for the runners-up spot, dropped two points as they were held 1-1 at Feathers, who have picked up some good points of late. This one will give the side some encouragement.

Great Yarmouth International won 2-1 at Yarmouth United despite having two sent off.

The league enters the final six weeks of the season, and Wednesday night sees the first league cup final of the season as Catfield take on MK United in what looks a cracking fixture.

The game kicks off at 7.30pm at the Wellesley and admission is £2 adults and £1 concessions and under-16s.

The Great Yarmouth and District Football League is inviting applications for the 2011-2012 season.

The league offers a competitive two division structure football league played on Saturday afternoons.
