The curtain came down on another season of the Flegg Darts League first division.

It was one of the most closely- fought contests for many years. There were four teams, Caister Community Centre, Caister Kings Arms, Martham Social Club and the Sutton Staithe who all looked likely at one stage to lift the title. A dismal run of results for Kings Arms in February, however put paid to any chance of them succeeding. With three weeks of the campaign remaining, the three other contenders were still very much in it. Caister Community Centre led the division.

An astonishing run of 10 consecutive wins for Martham Social Club kept the pressure on the leaders. At this stage, both Caister and Martham were joint top on 29 points. Sutton Staithe meanwhile were waiting for either of them to slip up. They were in third position on 26 points. Caister Community Centre always looked the favourites because of their far better games for ratio.

Going into the final match Caister and Martham were on equal points, but with Caister having a seven legs for advantage and playing the bottom side Hemsby Bell. An 8-2 win saw Caister win the title for the sixth year in a row. Martham in their final match against the second-from-bottom side the Centurion could only manage a draw. However it was a superb effort by the Martham team. Credit also must go to the Sutton team as they win their remaining match 8-2 against Fleggburgh Nomads to finish in third position on 32 points. Hemsby Bell and the Centurion are relegated.
