Caister were well beaten at leaders Harleston Town in their latest Anglian Combination Premier DIvison match.

They went down 5-0, with a hat-trick from substitute James Pipe and further strikes from Connor Delaney and Nathan Russell making it in eight wins in a row for the hosts.

The fixture list isn’t being kind to Caister, who must now gear themselves up for a trip to Norwich CEYMS, who have also won all their league games so far, tomorrow (1.30pm).

In Division Two Martham were involved in an eventful game at Mattishall Reserves which they ended up winning 4-3 thanks to two goals apiece from Darren Patterson and Oliver Woodhouse. They face a long trip to Wells Town tomorrow.

Gorleston Reserves went marching on the top, hammering visitors Earsham 6-1 with Matthew Oldham, Jacob Short and Joel Watts among the goals. They have a big match tomorrow when they travel to their nearest cahellngers Buxton.

Acle United Reserves made the short trip to Sprowston Athletic and returned home pointless after a 2-1 defeat. They welcomed Woodrow to the squad after his recent transfer from Belton.

Robinson fired just over the bar on 25 minutes before a mistake let in Sprowston for opening goal 10 minutes later.

Kenny did well to beat his marker just before the break, but his shot faded wide of the target.

Acle started the second half the better of the two sides and in the 65th minute equalised. Following an inch perfect cross from Robinson, Tooley finished superbly with his head.

However, with 10 minutes remaining Sprowston scored to regain the lead and that’s the way it stayed.

Tomorrow, Acle Reserves are on the road again with a trip to Mattishall Reserves.

Travis Manning’s Yarmouth Reserves fought out a tough match at The Wellesley against the conditions and North Walsham Reserves to come away with a 3-2 victory to keep up the pressure in the Division Four league table (Matthew Oldham 2, Regan Harman).

The Bloaters’ second string are away to Wymondham Town Reserves on Saturday.

Gorleston’s Under-18s were knocked out of the FA Youth Cup last Thursday evening when they were beaten 7-1 by visitors Dagenham and Redbridge.
