Caister 1, Wymondham Town 4

Caister entertained Wymondham for their fourth game on the trot against a top-four side in Anglian Combination Division One.

The game started evenly with chances created as both teams had good possession.

Wymondham went 1-0 up when a speculative shot found its way into the Caister goal. Wymondham then started to turn the screw slightly and their league position showed as a well-worked move and a good ball followed through allowed the Wymondham centre forward to finish well to make it 2-0.

However, Caister did not give up and a superb Michael Gislum cross was met first-time by the captain of the day Barry Crane, who pulled it back to 2-1.

In the second half Caister continued to push forward, however, as the pitch got heavier their legs got more tired and Wymondham started to hit them on the break.

Wymondham went 3-1 up with a well-finished shot across Lee Gillery, and later they went 4-1 ahead. Caister continued to push forward with a couple of good opportunities towards the end to pull a goal back, however, the match finished 4-1.

Caister should not become dejected about their recent string of poor results, because they have been playing against teams from the top of the division.

The next few weeks they have, on paper, slightly easier fixtures and hopefully points will come from them. They are still seventh in the table.

Next game away to Bungay (kick-off 2.30pm), meet Caister 12.45pm or Bungay at 1.30pm.
