Caister High School's U15 boys' football squad have retained the District and County titles in a record-breaking week for the school.

The boys retained the County Cup last Monday by beating Taverham High 5-0 in the final at Norwich United's Plantation Park. The victory capped an incredible run in the cup with impressive wins against Thorpe High, Acle High, Cliff Park High and Fakenham High on the way to the final.

The boys left their best performance for the final and swept Taverham aside with some breathtaking football and classy goals. Keegan Middleton scored a hat-trick and Sam Johnson found the net with a volley from outside the box.

Caister's success was built upon terrific work rate and commitment from the whole side, but the two centre- backs deserve special mention for their commanding performances.

A week later the Caister boys raised themselves again to win the District Cup for the third year running. This is an outstanding achievement in itself and was all the more pleasing as they had to dig deep in the cold and rain to overcome a strong Cliff Park side 3-2 after extra-time.

Again it was a gutsy and fully committed performance from the whole squad. The team's manager Chris Weight was full of praise for the squad in retaining both trophies: “The boys would run through walls for each other as a team. They are a talented bunch of lads but, above all, had the inner desire and mental strength to focus on their goals this year. Retaining both cups has been a remarkable achievement and the school community is hugely proud of all they have achieved.”
