Caister 2, Bungay Town 1

CAISTER played their first home Dolphin Autos Anglian Combination Division Two match of the year and stay third.

Players were told that they needed to put in maximum effort if they wanted anything from the match and they again responded magnificently.

Caister piled on the pressure from the start, and Bungay struggled to get into their stride. Caister forced Bungay to concede numerous corners in the opening 30 minutes and it was from a flag-kick, superbly whipped in by Jarvis, that Corke scored his third goal in three games, with a perfect header inside the post.

Even though Caister continued to boss the game they were not able to score any more goals in an exciting first half.

Bungay upped their game in the second half and, as in previous weeks, the back four of Mannall, Blake, Rowley and Corke needed to be at their best to give Hollis the support he deserved.

Caister weathered the early storm and broke back with another goal.

A cross from the right was well

taken by Holdsworth and he calmly rounded the keeper and scored with a clinical shot.

Bungay again fought back, and they made the score 2-1 when they were awarded a harsh penalty for hand-ball against Blake. Hollis was left with no chance from the spot.

As much as Bungay tried they were unable to break down the Caister defence again.

This was another good performance from Caister.

Next game, away to Norwich St Johns. Meet at Caister 1pm, ko 2.30. Any call-offs phone Paul or Scott.
